Conservation Board approves Gamble House Landmark status

Yesterday was another victory for the Gamble House and another PR nightmare for Carter Randolph and the Board Of Greenacres.

The Board Unanimously voted for Landmark status.

The only opposition was from C. Francis Barrett, attorney for Greenacres Foundation, and Carter Randolph, Greenacres’ vice president.

Everyone else supported the Landmark application which was granted. From here the next step will be planning board and the city council.

While this will not necessarily save the house, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the Board of Greenacres to deal with the negative publicity arising from all this. Barrett indicated a willingness to meet with Preservationists but so far no meeting has been set!
